Entertain
Is your content entertaining? Does it make the reader laugh? Does it make them feel good? If you want people to keep coming back for more, then entertainment value is key. This has to in some way also relate to what you are marketing, that is a huge piece of the puzzle some people miss, this is not about just entertainment, you really need to make a legitimate connection to what your business or service is all about.
Inspire
Is your content inspirational? Does it make people want to take action? This is the content that makes people feel something. It’s the kind of content that people share with their friends because they were moved by it in some way. Again, this has to be tied into what you are marketing and selling, or else it is just fluff, filler, and it does not have a connection to what your business is about.
Inform
Is your content informative? Does it give people the information they need to make a decision? This is the kind of content that people consume when they are trying to learn more about something. If you can provide helpful information that is relevant to what you do, then this is a great type of content to include in your content pillars.
So, whenever you are creating content, ask yourself: does this content entertain? Does it inform? Does it inspire? These are the four main types of content that you should be focused on creating. If your content does not fit into one of these categories, then you need to reevaluate what you are creating.
